Suggesting the ability to trade max stats for +1 to all stats. Reset to level 1, but you get a tiny bit stronger. requires max total, and a tribute of resources like 1k of a resource for each skill. Also comes with dope icon.
That's how it was back in maplestory private servers, was chill. Highly recommend. For stat bonus, could itemize it, using the ring slot (ring of prestige 1, 2, etc), fuck a ring of charos.

I like the idea, although it's a bit thin.
If you gain +1 each time you prestige. It's nice, but it's a bit thin to bother prestiges after the 5th time.
With attack, we could make it so you gain attack speed as well, which would be another reason to do so. Like 5-10% attack speed each time. And add a cap, because otherwise animations will look fucked.
What will prestige look like for each skill? This only covers attack.
Strength:
- +2 str bonus each time
Defence:
- Each time you progress, you get 3 points you can use; stab, slash, crush, mage and range.
Attack:
- Each time you progress, you get 2 points to use, for either stab, slash or crush.
Hitpoints:
- Each time you progress, you gain 2-4(?) more hitpoints
Range:
- You gain 2 points for ranged attack
Mage:
- You gain 2 points for mage attack
Prayer:
- You gain additional prayer points (would be like being potted). Like 2-4(?) each prestige.
I guess that would cover combat. How about everything else? How fun is it really grinding your ass off for this? RuneScape is about getting 99s mostly, you don't really want to do it again after the first time. Though, it depends on what purpose we add to grind. I just don't feel like this is enough yet.

Good point! I wasn't sure if itemizing it would be required from a coding POV. Are there character stats that can be altered to facilitate bonuses to all skills? For some high tier skills, alternate bonuses could be offered. Big example that comes to mind is Herblore, which as far as a power boost could only really come in the form of more powerful pots. But, what if some skills came with a chance to not expend materials. Like, say you've prestiged and now the prestige 1 ring comes with 100% chance to smelt iron, prestige 2 comes with 1 lower coal per ore, prestige 3 2 lower coal etc. For herb, you might see something like 20% chance to not expend an ingredient while processing pots. Rc is easy, bonus runes. Cooking doesn't benefit a whole lot from lower burn chance but makes grinding 99 a second time more palatable. Fishing, faster catch. Same for WC, mining. FM is useless anyways so perhaps colored lanterns can be awarded as a carriable item which would actually probably be the most sought after aspect of prestige. Carrying blue for prestige 1, red for 2, etc. Thiev, increased rewards.
Agility and slayer are tough since we don't use run here and crit chance is chill and all but meh. Maybe slayer gives a 1/10 chance (per prestige) for an extra drop roll overall, meaning at 10th prestige u get double drops. That could be another thing that sets it off.
Edit: this idea would highly promote longevity and offset the 'seasonal' ideology we've seen in the past few years.
